Technology has changed the way we communicate in general, but it has totally changed the way genealogists and family historians interact. Are you struggling to connect or keep up with news and information? Starting relationship with people you know using tools such as Google +, Facebook, and Twitter can help you keep step with how fast things are moving forward.
Sometimes it is not so easy learning new technology especially when it is always changing. You might feel at times like wringing you hands and at other times like jumping for joy. Besides learning the technology, you need to know the best practices to be successful.
Finding resources to help researchers use new tools can be scare at times, leaving us with not only struggling to learn, but also struggling to figure out what works best from our perspective. Not all the bells and whistles benefit us, right? Sometimes we pass up new features or updates because we do not know how to apply the applications.
We at “Go Social with Genealogy,” hope we can share with each other and make things easier for everyone. I happen to love jumping in and trying out new things. I do not mind sharing what I learn and creating a tutorial or video either if that will help. I am excited about doing that here. So if you hear about something you would like me to test and give feedback on, please let me know. I will try to stay abreast of whatever happens to be trending at the moment. Check back often, and check out our Facebook page: Go Social with Genealogy.
